About Dogear
Dogear is a small, independent publication about Kindle e-readers and the accessories that go with them. We write buying guides, not news.
What we do
Our aim is simple: help a US shopper choose a Kindle Paperwhite and a case without wading through a hundred near-identical listings. We keep the scope narrow on purpose. Right now that means the Kindle Paperwhite and Kindle cases, with more e-reader accessory topics to follow as we can do them properly.
Editorial policy
- Sources over opinion. Specs, prices and release details come from Amazon's own pages and announcements, supported by reputable press. Each guide lists its sources and the date facts were checked.
- We say what we do not know. If a spec is unpublished or sources disagree, we say so rather than guess. When a product has not shipped, we say we have not handled it.
- No invented testing. We do not claim lab results, test scores or hands-on experience we do not have. Our guides are research-based.
- No paid placement. No manufacturer or seller pays for a mention or a ranking. Brand names that appear are there to help you recognize listings, not as endorsements.
- Not a news site. We update guides when facts change, such as a new model launch, but we do not chase headlines.
- Corrections. If you spot an error, tell us on the contact page. We fix factual errors promptly.
Money and independence
Dogear is not Amazon, is not an authorized Amazon reseller, and has no official relationship with Amazon. We may use Amazon affiliate links in future; see the affiliate disclosure. If we do, it will not change what we recommend.
Trademarks
Kindle, Kindle Paperwhite, Kindle Colorsoft, Kindle Scribe and Amazon are trademarks of Amazon.com, Inc. or its affiliates. We use these names only to identify the products we discuss.
The site itself
This is a static website built with Astro. The diagrams are our own drawings, so there are no stolen product photos. The source code is public at github.com/zuoben/kindle-accessories.
